PROGRAMS / TEST PREP

Know the test before test day.

Entrance and standardized exams test a different skill than classwork does. We prepare students for the HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, and SAT by teaching the format, the timing, and the question types, then practicing until the test itself stops being the obstacle.

TESTS WE PREPARE FOR

Five tests, one approach.

HSPT. The High School Placement Test, used for admission to Catholic and many private high schools. Usually taken in eighth grade.

ISEE. The Independent School Entrance Exam, used for admission to independent and private schools.

SSAT. The Secondary School Admission Test, also used for independent and private school admission.

PSAT. The practice SAT, and the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. Most students take it in the fall of eleventh grade.

SAT. The college admissions test, with sections in reading and writing and in math.

WHO THIS HELPS

Recognize any of these?

A strong student whose test scores don't match their grades.

A private school application is coming up and the entrance exam is unfamiliar.

The PSAT or SAT is ahead and the student hasn't sat a full practice test.

None of this means something is wrong with your student. We use the free consultation to understand them as a person — what already works, what does not, and what would actually help.

WHAT STUDENTS PRACTICE

Skills we teach in this program

Know the format

What each section asks, how it is timed, and how it is scored.

Pacing

When to move on, when to come back, and how to finish every section.

Test conditions

Timed sections and full practice tests, reviewed question by question afterward.

IN PRACTICE

What happens in a session

We start with a diagnostic practice section to see where points are being lost. Each session targets one question type or strategy, practices it on real test material, and ends with timed work.

What parents see

After every session you get a short summary, plus practice test scores as they come in, so you can watch the gap close.
